EveryBody L3C, a social enterprise launched in January to provide jobs for developmentally disabled adults, is establishing a downtown Pontiac storefront at McLaren Oakland.
The lease agreement came after she reached out to McLaren Oakland President and CEO Margaret Dimond and other leaders as she looked for space in Pontiac.
"Although people with developmental disabilities have needs for employment everywhere, when you mix poverty, lack of transportation and access to opportunity, the need is greater (in Pontiac)," Brown said.

CHICAGO (CBS) — A fire on Sunday damaged three businesses in the Tri-Taylor neighborhood, and the store owners were left cleaning up quite a mess.
The fire broke out around 9 a.m. Sunday in at 2259 W. Taylor St., at Oakley Boulevard, and also spread to 2257 W. Taylor Street.
The fire started in a clothing store and quickly spread to a Mexican restaurant and a jerk chicken takeout place.

Brick and Ivy Market will open in the former Urban Found storefront at 182 S. River Ave. on Saturday, Aug. 1.
"It’ll be run mostly by me," said owner Melissa Mathis. "It’ll mainly be Michigan makers with a few non-Michigan brands scattered throughout. There’s going to be a lot of different products. It’s a one-stop shop. There’ll be women’s clothing and accessories, jewelry, skincare, baby clothing, baby toys and home decorations."

I've grown attuned to the end of the week – my sweet tooth starts acting up, and like clockwork, I get a hankering for ice cream.
