Rounds Bakery is closing its East Moana Lane store on July 17 to concentrate on its packaged food business in the face of challenges presented by COVID-19.
"As much as we love offering fresh bagels from our beautiful bread basket, we must socially distance, and our retail model does not support that right now," said Anton Novak, who owns Rounds Bakery with his husband, Sean Cary.
No operations will remain at East Moana Lane. Bakery production will be moving to a new location, perhaps in partnership with another entity; the owners would not disclose details.
Quite a lot has been going on:

Artwork to fill vacant Portsmouth storefronts - News - fosters.com - Dover, NH
Talking about problems can lead to a solution. Painter Frank Hyer was prompted to launch a new public, visual art project after participating in a webinar round-table focused on the state of the arts during the time of COVID-19.
The experience sparked "Art Through The Looking Glass," Hyer's brainchild, along with painter Alastair Dacey with support from painter and gallery owner Todd Bonita. "We're thick as thieves," Hyer said.
The venture plans to fill vacant storefront windows in downtown Portsmouth with visual art exhibits for curbside viewing.
