WORCESTER – Local artists - from emerging to established - have an opportunity to showcase their talents as part of a call for interactive public art in the storefronts across from the Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts.

The four prominently located storefronts at 554 Main St. will feature temporary installations of art over the course of several months, with a rotation of three phased installations.

The project will highlight work of local artists, including younger artists and those who may not have had their work displayed in galleries or exhibitions.

Ephemeral Florals Pop Up at Buckhead Storefront - Buckhead

A SCAD Atlanta graduate has taken over an 827-square-foot storefront in the Buckhead Village District between Hermès and Canali. Skye Lin, an artist with a background in fine art, installations, and sculptures, has created an otherworldly experience in this cozy little storefront. She first started working with flowers during the 2020 shutdown when she began constructing floral arrangements in her home and gifting them to friends and neighbors.

The pop up, called Pinker Times, offers an immersive experience with artful floral displays and ephemeral soundscapes alongside arrangements and bouquets for sale. The flowers Lin uses are almost exclusively bought from local growers like Chattahoochee Queen and 3 Porch Farm. Over the course of two months the installation will continue to evolve as new flowers are brought in and Lin creates new works in the space.

San Francisco Gallery Behind 'Bear-Hugging' Prints To Close Storefront by End of Month

Prints made by 3 Fish Studios that show California being "bear-hugged" have become a symbol of solidarity during times of local crisis. But the SF art studio announced Saturday it will close its Outer Sunset gallery by the end of August — and will focus on building its online presence.

3 Fish Studios on 4541 Irving Street is a well-known, cherished wonderland of left-of-center art, both printed on traditional canvass and mixed media. However, the gallery — which was founded in 2007 by husband-and-wife team Eric Rewitzer and Annie Galvin — has gained national attention for its "I Love You California" print collection, showcasing a bear giving the long state a warm embrace.
