About 8,000 Delmarva Power customers remain without power after Tropical Storm Isaias caused widespread damage and even spawned tornadoes.
Serious damage was also inflicted on Dover’s municipally-owned electric system. Crews from seven different municipalities in three states arrived to aid city utility crews, the city’s Electric Department reported.
The utility reported it was able to restore power to about 400 customers on Wednesday after last reporting about 2,000 without power. The storm toppled utility poles and even took the doors off one of the utility’s garages.

The typical Alabama Power customer will receive a $25 credit in October, following a decision by the Alabama Public Service Commission (PSC) .
Commissioners approved the credit Tuesday at their monthly meeting. The newly approved credit is on top of a 3% rate reduction that customers are already enjoying in 2020.
Combined with prior rate actions, customers are receiving approximately $300 million in benefits this year.
