Simon Property Group owns Coconut Point in Estero along with many other properties. The company is transforming the retail industry, looking to keep certain stores while also getting creative to keep shoppers coming in.
According to The Wall Street Journal , Simon has been in talks with Amazon, looking to convert certain empty department store spaces into warehouse distribution centers.

SAN ANTONIO – Laptops are leaving shelves faster than toilet paper as consumers cope with the latest pandemic-related shortage.
Families working and schooling from home are getting a frustrating lesson in supply and demand as they log on to buy a new laptop only to see the one they want is out of stock.
Affordable Chromebooks and laptops priced less than $500 have seen the most significant demand and sold-out status.

In today's tech bytes-- Facebook is expanding its e-commerce feature. The company is testing a new section called Facebook Shop to make it easier for users to find products from a variety of businesses. It's basically a shopping destination similar to Instagram Shop.
Apple is reportedly working on what is described as a "less ambitious" iPhone wireless charger. Last year the company canceled the much hype AirPower charging mat before ever releasing it. According to Bloomberg the new mat will be smaller.

165 signs highlighting Easton's shopping, heritage coming to downtown dining scene -
More than 100 signs highlighting Easton's retail, dining and heritage soon will be placed on concrete barriers in downtown dining areas.
The 165 signs were designed by Sarah Clark, owner and creative principal of Easton-based Kudu Creative, a brand strategy of print and digital design. They will adorn the faces of all the concrete barriers surrounding outdoor restaurants, such as 3rd & Ferry Fish Market , 56 S. Third St.; The Bayou Easton, 64 Centre Square; and Mesa Modern Mexican, 42 S. Third St.
Amazon rolls out a new AR shopping feature for viewing multiple items at once – TechCrunch
The company had first launched a simpler version of AR shopping back in 2017 with a feature called AR View in its Amazon iOS app , built using ARKit. But like many of the AR shopping tools to date, the focus with AR View was to allow consumers to visualize adding an item to their existing room — like a new chair or lamp or vase, for example — to see how the product went with their existing décor.
The Room Decorator experience takes things much further, as not only can you view multiple products together, you can also use the feature when you’re away from home by saving the AR snapshots of your room for later access.

SAN DIEGO — Before most young adults move into their first apartment, they go shopping with their parents. But for many of those who grew up in foster care, that's not an option.
In this Zevely Zone, I went to Mission Valley to find out more about a program called Just in Time for Foster Youth.
"I went to 15 elementary and middle schools, constantly moving around unsure of what was next," said Emilio.
He is now 21 years old, and before he moves into his first apartment, Just in Time for Foster Youth is offering him a free shopping spree from their donation warehouse.
