The travel industry has been hit harder by COVID-19 than just about any other. Recent Gallup customer behavior research, conducted through the Gallup Panel, shows that 51% of Americans are concerned about catching COVID-19, and eight in 10 say health and safety concerns will influence their decision to stay in a hotel over the next six months.

Clearly, the industry's first priority is real customer-centricity built on customer safety. And it needs to happen quickly, because a mistrustful consumer base is directly affecting the industry's bottom line:

Company helps pay for customers repairs after fuel mishap

SHOSHONE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - A Lincoln County couple is bringing awareness to a fueling mishap that had happened at a local station in Shoshone that caused their cars to breakdown. They also want people to know that the company that was impacted by the incident is working with customers to fix the problem.

"It is every parent's worst nightmare to not have a car because you never know when there is going to be an accident. You know things happen," Perri Smith said.

SCC: Utility service cut-offs to resume for most customers in September

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The State Corporation Commission will resume utility service cut-offs for most customers starting in September.

The general shutoff moratorium will now be Sept. 16 instead of Aug. 31, giving the General Assembly time to pass legislation in connection to the COVID-19 pandemic that could impact utility customers.

However, while the general moratorium will expire in September, "utility customers who entered into extended payment plans as a result of a prior Commission order will continue to be protected from service shutoffs if they remain current or enter into individualized new repayment plans with the utility."

Did a Walmart Customer's Change Get Donated Without Consent?

In July 2020, a Walmart customer in Massachusetts had the change from her purchase donated to charity without her consent.

In the summer of 2020, readers asked Snopes to examine the authenticity and accuracy of a widely shared Facebook post whose author claimed that the cashier at their local Walmart had donated their change without asking their permission in advance, or offering alternative ways of paying or receiving their change.

On July 20, 2020, Sheryl Jacob posted a photograph of a receipt from the Walmart store on Worcester Road in Framingham, Massachusetts, indicating that at around noon that day, she had purchased two items — priced at 49 cents and 88 cents. She paid $2 in cash. The remaining 63 cents in change had been donated, so the cashier didn't owe her any change.
