Friday Round-Up: Shaquill And Shaquem Griffin Featured In ESPN’s ‘Ready For
Good morning, 12s. It's the last Friday before the start of the season! Here's a look at what's out there today — September 4 — about your Seattle Seahawks:
ESPN is celebrating the occasion today with the launch of its 'Ready for Football' ad campaign that showcases fans' excitement and readiness for the start of the season. It features NFL players and fans, celebrities, and ESPN talent dancing and singing along to Celine Dion's 1996 rendition of "It's All Coming Back To Me Now." Shaquill and Shaquem Griffin are even spotted in the ad, sharply dressed and belting out (or at least lip-syncing) the beginning to the song's hook.

How The Best Campaign Ad Of The Year Beat The Kennedys
BOSTON - JUNE 25: Senator Ed Markey defeated Joe Kennedy in the Democratic Senate Primary. (Yoon S. ... [+] Byun)
An incumbent winning over an upstart shouldn't be a news story. But when the upstart is a Kennedy and the race is in Massachusetts, it is.
The fact that Senator Ed Markey was able to shift momentum in his race, change the early conventional wisdom, and use savvy marketing to align his campaign with a new generation of activist voters is a big news story. The fact that he won the race is an even bigger story.

With Time Running Out, Texas Abruptly Launches $15 million Ad Campaign Chasing Accurate Census
With just a month of counting to go in the crucial decennial census, the self-response rate for Texas households has barely topped 60%. As census workers have followed up in person with households that haven't responded, the share of households accounted for has risen to 79.5% — but Texas is still far behind several other states and several percentage points behind the national average.
On Aug. 26, the Texas secretary of state's office quietly put out word that it has up to $15 million to spend on an advertising campaign intended to urge residents to get themselves counted . The effort — which Texas will pay for by dipping into federal dollars meant to address the coronavirus pandemic — amounts to a last-minute about-face by the state, whose Republican leadership had previously shot down any significant state funding for efforts to avoid an undercount.
TV stations can't control campaign ad content | weareiowa.com
MINNEAPOLIS — The political advertising race that normally starts after Labor Day in Minnesota is already up and running. Viewers are seeing ads for both major presidential contenders, some congressional candidates as well as political action committees looking to sway voters.
The Biden campaign has reportedly reserved $3.8 million in advertising slots in Minnesota and launched four new ads this week. The Trump campaign has reserved $14 million. Those numbers could go up or down, depending on how tight the race is here relative to other battleground states.
Opinion | A new Trump ad features some oddly placed footage. Now its owner may sue.
The video images of the man and the girl appear to be owned by a French news organization that is now strongly objecting to the way they were "taken out of their context" in the ad. The news organization is also objecting to the use of the footage without permission, demanding that it be taken down, and threatening legal action if it is not.
"France 24 was deeply disturbed when it discovered the unauthorized use in a campaign clip of video images taken from a France 24 report shot during recent protests in Minneapolis," Marie-Christine Saragosse, the CEO of France Médias Monde, the parent company of France 24, said in a statement sent to me.
Michigan businesses back COVID-19 ad campaign featuring 'Rona'
Rona is a fictional character developed by the Detroit-based creative firm BLVD for a new statewide advertising campaign that aims to convince young adults to change their behaviors to curb spread of the coronavirus.
"This is going to have to be a persistence game — it can't be a one-shot deal," said Gerry Anderson, the executive chairman of DTE Energy.
The businesses backing the ad campaign are a larger group of companies than the group Anderson empaneled in the spring to form the Michigan Economic Recovery Council, which has advised Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on gradually reopening the state's economy after several sectors were halted in March as Michigan's coronavirus cases were surging.
