A new neighborhood café is now holding its soft opening in the Brewery District. Emmett’s Café, an Aussie-style coffee shop and casual dining spot, will hold its grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 744 S. High St., joining a stretch of businesses that includes Law Bird, Dough Mama, Ambrose and Eve, and Antiques on High.
After a tumultuous move from Clintonville to Downtown Columbus this year, Nancy’s Home Cooking announced the permanent closure of its new Lynn Alley diner, effective immediately. The announcement was posted to Facebook on Monday, citing concerns about the long-term outlook for the Downtown business. Nancy’s fans can still get their chicken and noodles fix, however.
Hmong Cultural Center to expand museum into ground-level Frogtown storefront – Twin Cities
The Hmong Cultural Center is expanding its museum gallery into a 1,200-square foot, ground-level storefront on the same block.
The new space at 377 University Ave. W. is expected to open by mid-2021 with double the square footage of the current location next door, which is situated within Hmong Cultural Center’s Frogtown offices.
The new space will be large enough to support social distancing and tours for school groups, according to organizers, and include a small theater for documentaries.

How an Airplane Parts Store Might Be a Sign of an Improving Downtown Rhinelander | WXPR
The store sells parts for commercial, business, and personal aircraft, even though it's far from any major airport.
But although it doesn't get much street traffic, the business plan and attitude of the owners might be a sign of a downtown on a gradual rise.
"If I was going to describe my business, I'm like the Napa Auto Parts for airplanes," said Bob Lueder, the owner of Plane Parts Inc. in downtown Rhinelander.
The well-lit, well-organized storefront on Davenport Street might seem like an odd place for a store like this, nowhere near any airport that could be considered a hub.

Empty storefronts are common sight in Toronto these days, but a photographer's recent work has revealed a whopping number of vacancies on Queen Street West.
Toronto photographer and videographer Ed Hanley took to the length of Queen Street between University and Strachan last week to document all the commercial units that were for lease, up for sale, barren, or papered up.
