I've said for years, anyone can find and reduce fraud if they know where to look and what to look for. I've also served many publishers, large and small, over the years. Even if they don't have #FouAnalytics installed on their sites, they can still find fraudulent bot traffic just by looking at their own Google Analytics (GA).

Despite that, looking at Google Analytics, with a bit of common sense and sleuthing, most folks can find something strange that is worth investigating more deeply. Usually they uncover bot traffic coming to their sites and messing up key business metrics. Let's look at what publishers and site owners can do themselves, just by looking at Google Analytics.
