Amazon accused of EU antitrust violation over Marketplace data - The Verge

The EU is accusing Amazon of misusing the data it collects from third-party sellers on its platform, European commissioner Margrethe Vestager announced today . The European Commission says Amazon is "systematically" using non-public marketplace seller data to unfairly compete with sellers in France and Germany. The accusations are the result of an investigation that was announced last year which looked at how Amazon uses sales data to compete with the platform's independent merchants.

Huff admits she's a bit of a media skeptic, though she's not a virus skeptic. She wears a mask in public and takes precautions at work. But she says she's relaxed a lot, and has even traveled to visit her kids. She's just not so scared anymore.

Biden likely to continue government scrutiny of Big Tech - Marketplace

David Brancaccio: So what’s this sense — that government regulators will somehow lay off on Big Tech when it comes to antitrust given that it’s President-elect Biden?

Erik Gordon: I think Mr. Biden is less strident than Mr. Trump is. But Mr. Biden won’t lay off a lot. For example, the Google antitrust case that’s already been filed — Mr. Biden, President Biden won’t stop that, because that would make him look too cozy with Big Tech.
