CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio -- With a taste of wintry weather under our belts this past weekend, we know what is coming: the holidays.
Like everything else this year, they are bound to look and feel different. But, if you have presents to buy and ship and stockings to fill, it is time to get your shopping started.

UK lockdown shopping tips as shoppers face nightmare before Christmas
As the song goes, Christmas is meant to be "the most wonderful time of the year" but the majority of UK shoppers may not be so merry as the nation enters its second lockdown.
Some 70% of people buy their Christmas shopping in November, according to a survey. But following Boris Johnson's announcement on Saturday, non-essential shops will be closed until 2 December to curtail a second wave of infections.
As the impending lockdown shuts about 363,000 shops, it will force more shoppers to buy online or wait until December as an alternative.

COVID-19 has supercharged online shopping in the US. This trend isn’t evenly distributed across the country, though.
That’s according to a new report from comparison shopping service LendingTree . LendingTree’s report uses the latest data from the Census Bureau Household Pulse Survey to find online shopping trends for those who want to stay on the pulse of local economies as the pandemic progresses.
First, the general trend: Nearly half (49 percent) of Americans reported that they had made more online purchases than usual over a seven-day period from mid-to-late September.

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — This year has been unlike any other with the holiday season coming in to cap it off. With that comes the rush of holiday shoppers. Although with COVID-19, Crossgates has announced new hours and initiatives to help make the holiday season safe for all.
Earlier in the year, retail marketing experts estimated retailers would encourage customers to begin their holiday shopping earlier with extended sales and deals spread throughout the season as opposed to the typical Thanksgiving/Black Friday start. Crossgates Marketing Director, Jennifer Smith, said several Crossgates tenants hopped on board with the idea.
