Nash's is known for signature eats like the Southern Bird, hot chicken served with pimento cheese, Nash's pickles, and bacon on potato bread. There's also the Cluck Norris with smoked gouda, mac and cheese, Nash's pickles, and baked beans.

A Northside mansion's transformation into apartments and a shipping-container addition at a suburban shopping mall were among area preservation and revitalization projects recognized with Golden Hammer awards this year.
Historic Richmond and Storefront for Community Design honored 10 projects out of 29 nominations received. The co-presenters typically celebrate the awards with an in-person ceremony but, due to the pandemic, announced this year's winners virtually and over social media.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there just aren't going to be any Salvation Army red kettles out in front of your favorite Ventura County storefronts this year. You won't be hearing the bell ringer signaling that special time of year. Yet, the need has never been greater.

COVID got in their way. But The Salvation Army and the Ventura County Star have a plan to get in COVID's way this Christmas. Through the Ventura County Star Bellringer campaign, the hope is to replace the lost revenue from the traditional kettles and keep Ventura County families fed, with a roof over their heads and toys under the tree on Christmas morning.
BMORE LICKS Now Open in Federal Hill
Popular Canton ice cream shop BMORE LICKS opened its second location at 901 Light St. in Federal Hill over the weekend. The 1,000 sq. ft. storefront was the former home of Pitilis Cleaners which closed earlier this year.
The business owners and married couple Barbara Maloney and Kimberly Proctor bought the three-story building, which also includes three apartments, earlier this year. They renovated the retail space into the ice cream shop with a small area for customers and added multiple walk-up windows along Light St. The building is freshly painted with a large ice cream mural and red and blue colors on the brick storefront.

Opening at noon Thanksgiving weekend, Fitzgibbon Meadery will offer seven varieties of mead and one type of wine.
"Mead, for those who don't know because I get that question a lot, is a honey-based wine," Eric McAnellen said. "It goes back to ancient Norse traditions. Vikings drank mead."

A local organization is helping more artists and businesses find spaces to work amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
25 years ago, Anita Durst started Chashama, an organization that supports local artists and small businesses by giving them spaces to create. She got the idea to start Chashama after she was in a theatre group led by Reza Abdoh.
Durst says that Chashama originally started with the intent of focusing on the production and presentation of new theatre. Since its inception, Chashama has evolved to help artists and businesses find a space of their own in vacant New York City spots until the spaces are able to be rented out full time.
