The Cubby provides a marketplace for UMaine students to buy and sell – The Maine Campus

The Cubby is a start-up company founded by Josh Kim. Tired of spending hundreds of dollars on textbooks, Kim formed The Cubby wanting others to save money and shop smarter over the course of their college career.

The Cubby was meant to be a platform where students can buy and sell used textbooks for the "college student budget." The trial run was a huge success, bringing in at least 1000 textbooks. But now the start-up has expanded to more than just books.

How markets are reacting to the presidential election - Marketplace

There is no verdict in the presidential race — but is there enough information now for companies and market participants to start repositioning themselves?

To start, given the current results , Bremmer said it’s unlikely Democrats are able to make significant gains in the Senate.

Listen to all of Bremmer’s conversation with “Marketplace Morning Report” host David Brancaccio.

“And, of course, that makes it much harder to see really big stimulus, that makes it harder to see an end to the filibuster,” Bremmer said. “It makes it hard to put through some of the more significant legislation longer term that the markets would have been scared of, but also harder to put through all of this relief cash that the markets wanted to see over the past several weeks.”

Feds Approve Fractious Georgia Plan to Change ACA Marketplace | Kaiser Health News

With the Trump administration announcing two days before Election Day that Georgia's healthcare.gov website will no longer provide options for residents shopping for plans starting in 2023, consumers will need to rely on private brokers, insurance companies, agents and commercial websites.

Republican Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, who pushed the plan , argued that this would give private entities an opening in the fall of 2022, when the following year’s plans will be marketed, to aggressively advertise and compete for consumers and increase the number of choices.

The history of the "I Voted" sticker - Marketplace

It's round, usually reflects the American flag's color scheme, and it's become the most popular visual shorthand for showing you've performed your civic duty: The "I Voted" sticker. Selfies of people sporting the sticker have likely populated your social media feeds as Election Day approaches.

This year, with more people voting by mail because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the sticker has become an even more important symbol, said Mia Costa, an assistant professor of government at Dartmouth College.
