10 tips for last-minute holiday shopping | GUIDON

There are eight days remaining until Christmas — seven for those whose family and/or friends open their gifts on Christmas Eve — and if you haven't done your shopping, finding the right gift may seem like a daunting task.

But there's no need to panic. With a little ingenuity, determination and creativity, there's still time to shop online or in-person utilizing retailers large and small.

Most people have at least one family member or friend who loves the holidays more than any other time of year — the type of person who collects decorations or puts up multiple Christmas trees throughout their home. Shop for them first. Items like keepsake ornaments, holiday figurines or even inflatable lawn decorations can make great gifts for these folks — and they're easily found almost everywhere this time of year.

Amazon Makes Shopping More Accessible And Convenient With Alexa-Powered List Sharing

Another significant benefit of this feature Haselton mentions is accessibility. For many people who are visually impaired, for instance, it may be easier to dictate a list of items from the supermarket and shared with someone than it is to manually write one. Likewise, for someone who's cognitively delayed, using Alexa to make a list and send it on its way may be more accessible than writing a list.

For Aurora-area residents during pandemic, holiday shopping makes it 'feel like it's Christmas' -

While 2020 will no doubt be remembered as the year when everything changed, even a pandemic can't seem to stop the Christmas rush as the final days of holiday shopping in the Aurora area tick down to Dec. 25.

Those managing area shopping centers as well as patrons visiting them are determined to make this holiday season as special as dozens of others that came before it.

"We've been very pleased with the foot traffic and number of people and families that are coming out," said Scott Samson, general manager for Fox Valley Mall in Aurora.

Tips for staying 'cyber secure' while online shopping

Ill. (KWQC) - State officials in Illinois are reminding residents how they can stay "cyber secure" this holiday season.

With COVID-19 restrictions in place, shopping online has become more than just a convenience officials said in a release. They want to make sure residents are taking important steps to remain safe while shopping online.

Officials say the popularity of shopping online has grown and with that comes an increase for cyber thieves to trick buyers into scams and steal personal information.
