Baby Boomers are shopping online for groceries - The Washington Post

Early in the pandemic, armed with step-by-step instructions, Joseph Clay committed to buying absolutely everything online.

Texas toast, blueberry waffles and diet root beer are repeat orders, spliced with the occasional addition: skull-shaped bookends, slippers for his partner and one overnight purchase to placate an aching tooth. He gladly shelled out $17.21 for a tube of Anbesol, an over-the-counter pain relieving gel, which Amazon had it to him before dawn.

ESET Survey Finds 70% of Americans are Shopping More Online Than Before the Pandemic, Yet Only

The ESET Global FinTech Study examined the online shopping and cybersecurity habits of 2,000 consumers in the United States and 8,000 consumers across the UK, Australia , Japan , Mexico and Brazil , and found that 70 percent of Americans are shopping more online than they did before the pandemic, with 36% doing so "much more often" than before.

Online shopping and cybersecurity were two of the topics of the survey, which also asked respondents a series of questions on online banking, data security and privacy, and financial technology. The ESET Global FinTech Global Study seeks to examine a range of themes in relation to these experiences in online shopping and banking for both consumers and businesses in a post-COVID world. Additional findings will be released throughout Q1 of 2021.

Planning Commission recommends denial of rezone for shopping center anchored by Publix | News |

In February 2000, a documentary crew with a national news agency interviewed members of Oconee Citizens for Responsible Growth, a grassroots effort to stop unwanted sprawl and development.

Almost 21 years later, a new group called Mars Hill Responsible Development may not have attracted national attention, but its persistent efforts to prevent a large shopping center from locating at Oconee Connector made quite an impression on the Oconee County Planning Commission.

Holiday Shopping in 2020 and Beyond

This conversation is based on research Software Advice conducted in September 2020 to understand how customers have adapted to contactless services in the wake of COVID-19.

Rachel B. Lee: This has been quite a year for retailers with a lot of opportunities and challenges. What have you observed and heard from independent retailers as they've navigated 2020?

Nicole Leinbach Reyhle: As we can probably all relate to, they've had to get used to shifting gears. This was such a sudden, abrupt change for everyone. But now, across the country and across the world, places are opening and then closing down, or they're limited in the capacity of their stores, or the consumers that they've generally sold to have been impacted more than others. Suddenly they're looking at different consumers to try to reach out to.
