Former Joe's NY Pizza downtown Portsmouth location will become offices

PORTSMOUTH – Going before the city's Historic District Commission next week are plans to give a facelift to the former Joe's New York Pizza storefront on Congress Street.

* * *

Joe's New York Pizza closed last February after 20 years downtown. Owner Joe Kelley cited a pending sale of the building and rent that had tripled since he opened. Efforts to buy the business condominium himself failed, he said.

The storefront at 124 Congress St. has been vacant since, with obvious construction and renovations taking place inside.
