Walking or driving through the commercial areas of West Hollywood, it's impossible not to notice all the vacant stores with For Lease signs in them.
The City of West Hollywood is attempting to beautify those empty store fronts and also bring attention to properties that are for rent by creating temporary art exhibitions in those store windows via a program called Windows of WeHo (WoW).
The WoW program hopes to have full-scale window installations or other inventive storefront art exhibitions in vacant stores all across town by late spring. That's also about the time that it is hoped enough people will be vaccinated and an economic recovery can truly get underway.

The sights of the riots in Grand Rapids in late spring 2020 created an unbelievable scene in the downtown of Michigan's second-largest city. The video above shows several different parts of the riot.

Workers have been busy adding a new facade to the store’s building since last month, according to store manager Steven “Skip” Christianson.
“They’re doing just the doorway with a different design,” Christianson said of the new eaves arching over the store’s entrance. “The sign will look different and then the outside wall will have brick on the bottom part. The rest will be the same,” he added, pointing to an architect’s drawing of the new storefront.

Thieves in search of quick cash recently ripped ATMs from stores in Connecticut and Massachusetts, part of a nationwide uptick in such crimes.
The latest smash-and-grab heists happened Sunday in Enfield and Agawam, Mass. Police in the two towns say the thefts likely are related.
In Enfield, three crooks broke into the Stop & Save Food Mart on Enfield Street at about 3:20 a.m. Police arrived within one minute to find the entire storefront shattered and the front door in the parking lot.

TUPELO • The Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association is happy to announce the winners of this year's Holiday Window and Storefront Display Contest.
In an effort to help gain more foot traffic in Downtown Tupelo and encourage local shopping and dining for the holiday season, the Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association held a window display contest encouraging local businesses to light up downtown for the holidays. The contest began Nov. 7 – the weekend of the Downtown Tupelo Holiday Open House. The contest ended Dec. 18.

NASHVILLE — It has been a hard year for Ensemble Nashville Boutique, a store that is proudly managed in Nashville, Tenn., by Parkersburg native and Ritchie County High School graduate Lauren Farrar.
Farrar, who attended Belmont University in Nashville, worked for Ensemble Nashville Boutique for several years during college as a part-time sales associate and eventually stepped into a manager position upon graduation.
