Topeka businesses see positive outcome of holiday shopping
TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – The holiday shopping is over, but local businesses are coming out of it with smiles, even after such a year, according to Rhiannon Friedman, the new president of Downtown Topeka Inc.
The City of Topeka offered free four hour parking downtown to encourage people to check out the local businesses over the holidays, and it worked. Friedman said many of the businesses did great over the holidays. Which is something they truly appreciate.

Beverly Hills Courier reporter Samuel Braslow caught the chaos on video and said the demonstration unfolded at a grocery story, then moved into a mall.
"Today, a group of anti-maskers protested at Ralph's and the Century City shopping mall," he tweeted. "Lots of angry confrontations with customers and a few physical altercations."
"I don't wear masks," one anti-masker in a red baseball cap tells a concerned store employee who offers to give him one. That employee wore a shirt reading, "I have issues."

Franklin Street has arranged the sale of Northtowne Centre, a 257,744-square-foot regional shopping center in Hixson at 5450 Highway 153. Coastal Equities, a South Florida-based commercial real estate investment company, acquired the asset for $14 million.
Franklin Street's John Tennant and Bryan Belk, of the firm's Atlanta Retail Investment Sales Team, represented a private seller in the transaction.
Northtowne Centre was 96.26 percent occupied at the time of sale with national tenants including Hobby Lobby, Ashley HomeStore Outlet, American Freight & Mattress, Staples, Dollar Tree, Stockdale's, Great Clips and others. The property also features outparcels for Waffle House, McDonald's and Firestone Complete Auto Care, which were not included in the transaction but provide additional traffic for the shopping center.
