Amazon partners with UN Women to launch IWD storefront in India

Amazon India on Friday announced that it was collaborating with UN Women to launch the IWD Storefront ahead of International Women's Day. The IWD Storefront was inaugurated by Country Representative, UN Women India Susan Ferguson in the presence of the Union Minister for Women and Child Development and Textiles Smriti Zubin Irani at a virtual event that was themed on "Challenge. Champion. Change." today.

The IWD Storefront features a selection of products made available by women-owned businesses. Amazon India says that it will help customers discover and purchase from close to 80,000 unique products including selection like organic products, handmade crafts and healthy snacks among other things.

Lion Cub's Cookies to open a permanent storefront in Grandview

"With COVID-19, the pop-ups stopped, and we haven't really revisited since we did one small pop-up a couple of months ago at Watershed Distillery," Kaplan said.

Due to the success the business has been seeing, Kaplan said he is in the process of opening the store in the late spring or early summer. They do not have an exact date set yet.

"The pandemic has actually kind of allowed us the opportunity to grow and to be in the situation we're at now, where we are able to move into Grandview," Gordon said.

Bay Area Reporter :: Political Notes: HRC set to move out of historic Castro storefront amid

With the lease for its Castro store not renewed, the Human Rights Campaign will move out of the historic storefront in April, the LGBTQ organization announced Friday. The news comes as talks are underway to designate the former location of the late gay supervisor Harvey Milk's camera store and residence a national park site.

The Bay Area Reporter has learned that representatives with the GLBT Historical Society and the National Parks Conservation Association recently met with gay District 8 Supervisor Rafael Mandelman to discuss the possibility of seeing the property at 575 Castro Street become part of the National Park Service. The building is already a San Francisco city landmark.

Planting Roots: LoKey Designs Opens Storefront in St.

"If not now, when?" That was the question Laura Dooley asked herself before ultimately deciding to push forward to open a studio for her home goods and plant business, LoKey Designs, last June.
