As you've no doubt heard in the news, we got a very good March jobs report Friday morning. To recap a few of the headline numbers:
— The unemployment rate declined 0.2% to 6%, the lowest level since the pandemic hit and unemployment soared, at one point to 14.8%. That was in April.
— 350,000 people flowed back into the workforce, looking for jobs, and 200,000 returned from temporary layoffs.
Positive comments were a dime a dozen as I did my economist calls, starting with Nicole Goldin at the Atlantic Council: "Definitely signs of a boom."

The March increase — the most since August — was nearly double February's gain of 468,000, the Labor Department said Friday . The unemployment rate declined from 6.2% to 6%.
Even with last month's robust increase, the economy remains more than 8 million jobs short of the number it had before the pandemic erupted a little over a year ago. But with the recovery widely expected to strengthen, many forecasters predict enough hiring in the coming months to recover nearly all those lost jobs by year's end.
Are cheaper eggs just as nutritious as organic or free-run options?
Some of the cheapest, widely available eggs tested by Marketplace may be just as nutritious as some of the most expensive.
These eggs can vary in price at the grocery store from about $2.75 per dozen to more than $7.49 per dozen, with many options in between.
Usually, the least expensive that Marketplace tested were conventional eggs, while the organic eggs were the most expensive.
And when it came to the organic eggs, not all of them tested equally. In Marketplace 's test, organic eggs produced on small farms had more nutrients than the big-brand organic eggs sold at Canada's largest grocers under private labels and by two of the largest egg brands in the country.

Major League Baseball announced Friday that it’s moving the 2021 All-Star Game and draft out of Atlanta in response to a new Georgia voting law . The law imposes new voter ID requirements and limits ballot drop boxes, among other provisions that advocates say disproportionately curtail ballot access for Black voters.
Last month, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a bill making early voting harder, and Arkansas passed two bills tightening voter ID rules. According to NBC News, 47 states are considering restrictions to voting.

COUDERSPORT, PA (WETM)- Fire crews responded to a commercial structure fire at 251 Route 6 West in Coudersport, Pennsylvania around 9:30 p.m. Friday.
According to residents, the location is known to be Kaytee’s Family Restaurant and Marketplace.
Potter and Tioga County, P.A. fire crews were on the scene, as well as, several other fire departments, to assist.
Flames were reported through the roof above the restaurant area before fire crews arrived on the scene.

Now the IRS says it will recalculate their tax returns for them. But there's a catch — they'll have to wait for their refunds.
Josh Gannis, a teacher in Tacoma, Washington, was laid off a year ago and received about $15,000 in unemployment benefits. He filed his taxes a few days before Congress passed the latest COVID-19 relief bill, which — surprise! — made the first $10,200 of 2020 unemployment benefits tax free for households with adjusted gross income below $150,000.

Unemployment, reflection for Broadway performers during COVID - Marketplace
The Broadway industry contributed $14.7 billion to New York City's economy and supported 96,900 jobs during the 2018-2019 season, according to Broadway League — an industry that's been on pause for over a year now due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It's a glimmer of hope for the performers whose careers have been in limbo since March 12, 2020, when theaters shuttered their doors.
Kathryn Allison, a Broadway actor and citizen artist whose credits include "Aladdin" and "Wicked," was just 10 days away from the opening of the musical "Company," in which she was an on-stage principal understudy, when theaters closed.
