Growth depends on companies keeping a steady flow of new customers coming in. And in those efforts, businesses might offer discounts to new customers or provide a better customer experience for prospects while doing little for their existing customers.
While a legacy customer might continue to buy products or services from the company, they could just as easily be annoyed enough to take his or her business elsewhere.
Chipotle's quesadillas bring in new customers, contribute to digital sales growth
After years of tinkering with the recipe, the burrito chain launched the menu item as a digital exclusive in mid-March . So far, it looks like taking the time to figure it out has paid off for Chipotle. CEO Brian Niccol said Wednesday that about 10% of customers are ordering the quesadillas, which is its first new entree in 17 years.
"We made sure we took the proper time to develop an excellent product that consumers love and also works well operationally," he told analysts.
Someone is using SonicWall's email security tool to hack customers
SonicWall said the flaws were discovered during "standard collaboration and testing" and there is evidence at least one of those vulnerabilities is being actively exploited by attackers. A report by Mandiant issued on the same day claims that they first disclosed them to SonicWall on March 26. There are patches available now for all three vulnerabilities.
The Mandiant researchers noted that some of the vulnerabilities – like the ability to upload ZIP archives normally used for photos, logos and other branding images to upload web shells and other malicious code – are not unique to SonicWall or its products. Rather, they most likely came from bits and pieces of code hosted in open source libraries or repositories that get used and re-used across many different products, a problem that plagues the software industry writ large.
Eversource warns customers of scammers | WWLP
(WWLP) – As many people continue to deal with power outages, a warning from one utility company Wednesday night.
Eversource is urging its customers to remain cautious against scams. According to the company, scammers continue to use new tactics to scam people.
That includes using phony caller IDs that display “Eversource” and recordings that sound like company representatives threatening to disconnect customers’ electric or gas services because of an unpaid bill.

Intel said last month that it will build a major new semiconductor factory - called a "fab" by industry officials - in Europe, with plans to announce a site within the next year. Intel did not specify which government officials Gelsinger would meet.

Boil advisory reissued for Lawrenceville water customers
The Clark County Utilities Department is advising customers in the Lawrenceville water district to boil their drinking water today, according to a statement from the county.
The advisory is being reissued due to water infrastructure repairs being performed this week by the Village of North Hampton. The advisory is expected to affect about 100 customers.
The boil water advisory was initially issued for Monday but was postponed after infrastructure work in the area was pushed back.
