Crave Cookie, ghost kitchen phenom, to open its first storefront in NW Fresno

The new storefront is located near Herndon and Highway 99 at the Marketplace at El Paseo and will be open Monday through Saturday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The transition from a ghost kitchen to a physical storefront is one of the bright spots for local businesses over the last year.

"We were able to stay afloat through COVID with delivery. People were still buying. Our business actually grew during COVID, which was a blessing. We were able to invest that all back in our business and open this store," Scrivner said.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Retail has been a volatile industry for years, even more so during the pandemic. But one KELOLAND clothing boutique owner says the pandemic became the catalyst for growing her business.

“I was just looking for something, something small to help make some extra money to help pay the bills,” Lauriebelles owner Laurie Karlson said.

Seven and a half years ago, the former teacher and stay at home mom decided to start a clothing company.

Kow Kow Goes from Food Truck to Storefront In Fox Point - Rhode Island Monthly

On Saturday’s grand opening, the socially-distanced line outside Kow Kow in Providence’s Fox Point neighborhood wrapped around the building. People walked down the block wearing masks and clutching fresh-made bubble waffle cones stuffed with ice cream and topped with treats like Oreos, Kit Kats, strawberries and more making everyone waiting in line all the more jealous. The only drawback was, they couldn’t wait to dig in.

Top Shelf Cookies will soon open a storefront in Dorchester | Boston.com

"The first space we looked at was 516 Gallivan Boulevard [in Dorchester]," she said. "I get out to my car after that, and we were going to look at more spaces. I got a text from someone, and they were like, Hey, can you put a standing order on hold for now? Sure, OK. We continue throughout this tour of real estate. By the time we were done, four out of my five revenue streams were shut down. And I went to bed that night and was like, Cool, we had a good run, but it's over."

Steam Wins Storefront Of The Year At Indie Publishing Awards 2021

Last night saw the world's first Indie Publishing Awards ceremony, a star-studded affair full of the biggest names in the indie games biz. Names like Gabe Newell, Peter Moore, Brenda Romero, and PlayStations Shuhei Yoshida, all appearing via webcam for the 30-minute digital event.

Since the Indie Publishing Awards are all about the business side of things, there wasn't much discussion about any individual indie game's success, but there was a lot of talk about publishers, storefronts, and developers.

Berkley-based organic juice maker Drought said Friday it is shifting its focus to primarily wholesale.

The company will close four locations in favor of operating one factory-direct retail storefront at its Berkley headquarters, according to a press release. The storefront will open May 7.

"The ambition to evolve DROUGHT beyond just the metro Detroit area has been in the works for years, and we are grateful for the opportunity to make some significant changes," Cait James, CEO of Drought, wrote in the statement. "Reducing our company-owned retail footprint allows for improved operational efficiencies needed to keep up with our exponential growth in wholesale sales."
