The Department of Defense is expanding access to the military exchange stores to DoD and Coast Guard civilian employees with a Common Access Card.
The April 12 directive extends in-store and online exchange shopping privileges to civilian employees who work in the U.S., and in U.S. territories and possessions.
This order goes into effect within 30 days. These employees will now be able to shop in Army and Air Force Exchange Service stores, Navy Exchange stores, and Marine Corps exchanges.

VERMILLION, S.D. (KELO) – Volunteers at the Vermillion Middle School are taking donations that will go towards a unique shopping experience for students and their families called The Rack.
Hodge decided to start this project called The Rack, which allows all students and families to shop for basic needs for free.
“This pandemic has shown us, it doesn’t matter, you know, how much money you make, we all might find ourselves in a position that we need assistance,” she said. “So this Rack isn’t just for one particular demographic, it really is for all of our students and families.”
Top Chinese banks promote CBDC over local payment firms for shopping festival
Some of China's largest state banks are actively promoting the digital yuan as a superior means of payment to the country's two leading payment providers, Alipay and WeChat Pay.
In an April 26 report , Reuters revealed that six of China's largest banks are promoting China's nascent central bank-issued digital currency, or CBDC, in Shanghai ahead of an online shopping festival on May 5.

Fancy Plants plans for in-person plant shopping
Last spring when the pandemic struck, Jenna Rossbach, owner of Fancy Plants greenhouse in Moretown, could have allowed in-person shopping, but there was not enough known about how the COVID-19 virus spread for her to be comfortable with that.
"I didn't feel like being a guinea pig," she said. That led to her creating an online shopping portal after she created a catalogue of her plants and a system for inventorying them.
Then she created a plan for people to select a pick-up time for curbside pickup with people coming at 15-minute intervals.
