A driver smashed his vehicle through a glass storefront in the Lower East Side late Monday afternoon.
At approximately 3:52 p.m. on May 24, police received a report of a vehicle crashing into the facade of a handcrafted specialty store at 37 Orchard St.
First responders from the FDNY and NYPD's 7th Precinct immediately responded to the incident. Members of the police department and fire department found a Toyota Camry inside of a boutique named November 19.
Wilmette's Actors Training Center plans to grab adjacent storefront | The Record
The village's Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously recommended the nonprofit’s request for a special-use permit to expand its existing space at 1157 Wilmette Ave. into the adjacent storefront. The request now heads to the Village Board for potential approval on June 8.
ATC Founder and Executive Director Carole Dibo told the zoning board that the additional storefront will look much like the current space. It will be open to the public, and passersby can see the training through the large front windows.

"Oh, it's not a store," a woman explained to a stranger approaching the front gate of what used to be the Gap. "They're going to start dancing in a few minutes. Here, you can watch."
On the other side of the looming rotunda windows, where unnaturally slim white mannequins once displayed denim jackets, a member of the dance company Robert Moses' Kin slithered onto the pin-lighted platform, reached and kicked and spun. Soon another dancer joined her, gazing intently as she fluttered a hand. Then the two women dropped all their weight into a crouch, rebounded and pulled an invisible string from the air, one among a dozen rapid-fire, mysterious gestures.

She spent time studying the art of baking foods like croissants, puff pastries, pies and more. When she landed on cakes, she found something she really enjoyed.

LAKE PLACID — The owner of a local real estate agency has applied for authorization to operate a new boat rental business on Mirror Lake.
Peter Day, owner of Martha Day Realty, has submitted an application to the town-village Joint Review Board seeking authorization to operate a boat rental business behind the Martha Day Realty storefront on the north end of Main Street.
Day owns the 2411 Main St. property where the storefront is located, as well as the land behind it, which has an existing boathouse and dock on Mirror Lake.
Casero Opens a Shop for Its Beautiful Cheese and Charcuterie Boards - Eater Austin
Charcuterie board company Casero is opening a storefront in the Mueller neighborhood soon. The shop will open at 2100 Robert Browning St. on Wednesday, June 2.
Casero makes charcuterie, cheese, and crudite boards, as well as pates, pickles, and mustards to go on them. The boards make use of local products like jams from South Lamar shop Confituras and honey from Two Hives, and come in three sizes which can feed four to 16 people. Customers can order one of several types of boards (like the Louise with five cheeses, honeycomb, dried and fresh fruits, nuts, and jam) or create a custom board.
Charity that gives away free period products set to open Auckland storefront after donations
A two-week crowdfunding campaign which raised more than $21,000 will see a period advocacy charity get its own dedicated space in Auckland.
It was also one of the organisations behind getting free period products in schools nationwide.
Thanks to its crowdfunding campaign, it will soon leave behind its small Onehunga storeroom for its own space.
22 New Brunswick Businesses Earn Rutgers' Workplace Safety Seal - TAPinto
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — The Rutgers Occupational Training and Education Consortium today announced that 22 city businesses have earned the Rutgers OTEC High Road Seal of Approval after completing a COVID-19 workplace health and safety program.
Business owners will display the seal on their storefront at a time when New Jersey’s restaurants and stores are returning to full capacity and the indoor mask mandate is winding down.
“These businesses are taking the high road by making health and safety a top priority as we enter this new phase of reopening,” said Carmen Martino, a professor in the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations and director of Rutgers OTEC. “When you see that seal on the storefront, it means they’re following best practices and going the extra mile to protect their workers and customers.”
