A New Form of Experiential Retail Is Coming to A Storefront Near You | REBusinessOnline

Houston is already seeing concepts that innovate the traditional games and activities associated with entertainment centers. One example is PopStroke Golf, a concept that features elaborate mini golf courses designed by Tiger Woods, as well as food and beverage options and other play areas for children. The Florida-based concept plans to open a venue at Katy Grand in Houston in late 2022.

From regional malls to small-town shopping districts, the United States has over 1 billion square feet of excess retail space, according to analysis from CoStar Group, with roughly 23 square feet of retail space for every person in the country. For reference, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Japan all have less than 5 square feet per capita.

Vintage Shop Moth Oddities Settles Into New Storefront - Mpls.St.Paul Magazine

Since starting the online and pop-up shop Moth Oddities in 2014, Yana Pietras and Ian O'Neill have been traveling cross country in their 1986 wood-paneled Jeep Grand Wagoneer to find the very best vintage clothes. Starting June 11, though, they'll finally have their own 800-square-foot shop in Northeast Minneapolis to return to.

"The irony of signing a lease on a physical storefront in the middle of a pandemic is not lost on us, but when we toured the space, we knew it was the one," Pietras says. "We love the neighborhood and the potential for us to move into the upstairs apartment as we grow. Talk about a short commute!"

Little Traverse Tileworks opens storefront in Harbor Springs

HARBOR SPRINGS — Little Traverse Tileworks recently opened a new storefront in Harbor Springs, making a split from Petoskey's Sturgeon River Pottery.

The business, owned by Cora Smith, was originally started about a decade ago with Sturgeon River Pottery owner Dana Andrews but has since grown into something all its own and to a point Smith knew it was time to take it over herself.

"I had done some clay work in the past but we all just kind of figured it out together and, from there, it became what it is now while evolving like crazy," she added.
