LOS ANGELES — During the darkest days of the Coronavirus pandemic, Martha Medina would occasionally slip into her shuttered store on Los Angeles' oldest street to ensure everything was secure.

Severe weather knocks out power to thousands of West Virginia customers
HUNTINGTON, W.Va . (WSAZ) -Appalachian Power estimates more than 20,000 customers are without power Sunday evening across West Virginia and parts of Virginia.
Another provider, First Energy estimates more than 10,000 of their customers are without electricity after severe weather moved through the region.
Another 984 customers in Clay County are in the dark, while about 1,250 customers in Braxton County don't have electricity either.

DULUTH — Ashley Sivertson is among many of the Northland's essential frontline workers — the medical staff, the bus drivers, the grocery store cashiers and more — who showed up and punched in as we all clung to the ever-developing news of the coronavirus.
When COVID-19 prompted shutdowns across Minnesota, Sivertson was three months pregnant and working at Woodland Short Stop, a gas station and convenience store in Duluth.
Sivertson has been with the Short Stop team for several years, and at the Woodland location for the past three. She said she felt cared for while on the clock.

FedEx Freight is immediately cutting service to about 1,400 less-than-truckload customers, affecting thousands of locations, in an effort to reduce terminal bottlenecks and shipping delays as unprecedented amounts of tonnage pour into the sector.
The heavy trucking division of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX ) began notifying select manufacturers, retailers and logistics companies on Friday that it will stop picking up their goods as of Monday, leaving them virtually no time to make alternative shipping arrangements. Other LTL carriers are also operating at maximum capacity and may not be able to absorb more freight in the near-term.

The majority of impacted individuals are either current or prospective buyers for Audi vehicles. 163,000 individuals are in Canada, whereas the rest are in the United States.
On Friday, the automaker said that a compilation of data used for sales and marketing purposes between 2014 and 2019 was left unsecured and exposed online "at some point" between August 2019 and May 2021, although the exact timeline has not been established.
An associate vendor has been identified as the source of the breach but the company has not been named.
Power outage affected over 1,200 customers in Mesa
MESA, Ariz. - Officials with the Salt River Project say a power outage affected an estimated 1,235 customers in the East Valley on June 13.
According to officials, the outage impacted an area stretching from Gilbert Road to Val Vista Drive, and from Brown Road to Main Street in Mesa.
Officials say the power went out at around 4:39 p.m., and has subsequently been restored to those affected in the area.

Storms Leave More Than 10,000 Duquesne Light Customers Without Power – CBS Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Duquesne Light Company is reporting that more than 10,000 customers are without power as a result of Sunday’s early evening storms.
They also have said that a technical issue is preventing customers from reporting outages on their website and mobile app.
