Under 21? SLO City says you can't enter a cannabis storefront - Mustang News

The City of San Luis Obispo is preventing medical cannabis users younger than 21 from entering storefront cannabis dispensaries.

This means, that for those who have a medical card and are under 21, delivery services are the only way to purchase within San Luis Obispo.

This ordinance only applies in San Luis Obispo city limits, as other storefront dispensaries in neighboring towns within the county, such as Grover Beach and Arroyo Grande, do not have the same restrictions.

No one knows better than Brandon Byrd that running a business can be precarious: In his journey toward opening a storefront for Goodies, a frozen custard truck in the D.C. area, he's rebounded from several setbacks. One of them being a worldwide pandemic that hit when he was preparing to remodel an old ice house for his storefront in Old Town Alexandria.

"I always say things happen for a reason, I'm not really sure why they happen, but they do happen," Byrd said about the setbacks he has faced before opening.

After Coldwell Banker withdraws, village officials reimagine the possibilities of prime downtown

Real estate company Coldwell Banker recently scrapped its plans to occupy a high-profile corner in downtown Winnetka, making a desirable vacant storefront once again available.

Village officials told The Record the company withdrew its special-use application in mid-May to occupy the highly visible property at 538 Chestnut St. that previously housed Berkshire Hathaway for more than three decades.

Winnetka's Plan Commission unfavorably reviewed Coldwell Banker's application in late April. Prior to the commission’s meeting, more than 15 Winnetka residents submitted comments opposing the proposal.

Teen to Open Sneaker Store in Hoboken - Hoboken Girl

In July 2020, Joseph "JoJo" Petruzzelli, then a 13-year-old eighth-grader, used his love for sneakers to benefit the Hoboken Jubilee Center by hosting a pop-up sneaker store to raise funds for the Center. The success of the pop-up event meant Joseph was able to expand to a larger location for a longer period of time at 407 Washington Street – and has managed to continue operating Elite Kickz there for longer than originally anticipated.

Elite Kickz buys and sells limited-edition sneakers and apparel. "At 11 years old I turned my love for sneakers and streetwear into a business called Elite Kickz, reselling rare kicks at trade shows and to the sneaker community," Joseph told Hoboken Girl . "To me, being a sneakerhead is having a passion for the sneaker culture."

LETTER: ZBA should reject bid to change Fowle's | Letters To The Editor | newburyportnews.com

In eight years as the city councilor for Ward 2, which includes downtown, I have written to the Zoning Board of Appeals only once before.

I write this time to urge you to reject the proposed variance to allow replacement of the historic storefront windows at 17-21 State St.

I won't cite the provisions of the zoning ordinance, including the findings you would have to make to support a variance. The city solicitor can go over those with you. I won't cite the stated purposes of our zoning, which the City Council has the power to change.
