Black Friday shopping might be too late, thanks to shipping delays - CNET

Shipping delays create challenges for Hawaii businesses ahead of holiday shopping season

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Halloween shopping season for 2021 is looking frightening for some local businesses.

“Certain items that we would expect in now is still in route, and some things that normally would be out of China months ago are still in China when we were talking to our vendors,” said Andrew Shum, Party City of Hawaii vice president of corporate operations.

Citadel Outlets shopping event helps local nonprofits

Grocery shopping, vaccine appointments: How Clifton Park volunteers stepped up last year

Rachele Koegl of Ballston Spa set up nearly 1,000 vaccine appointments for elderly people while juggling her three children: Theo, 2; Ollie, 4; and Ben, 6.

Grattan was one of more than 175 volunteers in town who stepped up at the start of the COVID crisis last year. Some of them delivered hot meals from Ravenswood, which donated hundreds of meals over the course of the shutdown.
