Businesses luring employees along with customers this season

FOLSOM, Calif. — The Hampton Inn in Folsom, California, has 147 rooms, but General Manager Enid Baldock could only rent 117 of them recently because she did not have enough workers to clean them.

"I was turning people away with 30 rooms (available). Ridiculous," she said while stuffing bedsheets down a laundry chute to help our her skeleton housekeeping staff.

Customers Show Up To Shop and Support Small Business Saturday – NBC Connecticut

Holiday shopping crowds were out in full force as many customers looked to support and shop local for Small Business Saturday.

A little holiday magic was on display in Middletown, which included a horse and carriage and pictures with Santa Claus. The rollout of activities is a part of the town's 36th Annual Holiday on Main Street, also known as Magic of Middletown.

Boston Market customers who prepaid for Thanksgiving meals show up to closed doors

Some customers who had preordered their Thanksgiving meals through Boston Market were surprised when they arrived at the chain's Rancho Cucamonga, California location and found it closed.

A sign at the Rancho Cucamonga restaurant, about 45 miles east of Los Angeles, said that its sudden closure was due to a labor shortage.

Black Friday Customers Return To In-Person Shopping At Patriot Place – CBS Boston

FOXBORO (CBS) — Bundled up with bags in hand, shoppers at Patriot Place in Foxboro Friday night were still seeking those Black Friday savings. After a holiday season spent at home and apart from each other last year, shoppers were ready to resume their traditions.

"When COVID started, I stopped. And now, things are getting more open so I can start going out more," a male shopper from Maine said.
