Sewer rates spike 17 percent Saturday for single-family customers in San Diego - The San Diego

The sharp increases are the result of a comprehensive study that showed single-family sewer customers haven't been paying enough while other customers — businesses, apartments and condos — have been paying too much.

Rates for businesses will drop by 5 percent when the new year begins Saturday, while rates for condos and apartments will drop 12.1 percent.

Apple closes stores to most customers in New York City due to Covid surge

Apple closed its stores to indoor customer traffic at its New York City retail locations Monday due to a rise in Covid-19 cases in the city. But those ordering online aren't restricted from picking up products outside those stores, the company website indicated Monday.

The response follows a spike in Covid-19 cases due to the rapidly spreading omicron variant. It's not known how long the closures will last.

Customers starting to see big natural gas bill spike we were warned about

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Some people are starting to get their gas bills for the month, and they are seeing a big jump in costs.

In October, CenterPoint warned there would be a spike in natural gas bills compared to last winter.

They said customers can expect to pay on average $146 a month, over the 5-month heating season of November through March. By comparison, last year's average bill amount for the 5-month period was around $75 a month.

69,000 PG&E customers without power in the Sierra | Maps, updates | abc10.com

GRASS VALLEY, Calif. — Thousands of Pacific Gas and Electric [PG&E] customers are without power in the Sierra Monday.

Megan McFarland, a spokesperson for PG&E, told ABC10 about 69,000 customers are without power in the Sierra Division, which includes El Dorado, Nevada, Placer and Sierra Counties. By 10 p.m., not much has changed, but power is back on in downtown Placerville.

Should customers be offered discounts to keep returns? – RetailWire

According to a Pymnts study, 45 percent of holiday shoppers would be willing to keep items they were planning to return in exchange for just a 10 percent discount. That figure climbs to 51 percent for a 20 percent discount and 59 percent for a 30 percent discount.

The study, based on a survey of nearly 3,000 U.S. consumers at the tail end of the 2020 holiday season, found that many customers were open to taking a discount for all the major reasons returns are made.

AG - AG Nessel Helps Save Consumers Electric Customers Nearly $198 Million

LANSING  - Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel's latest intervention in a rate case before the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) contributed to an 88% reduction from Consumers Energy's original request.  

MPSC's ruling in  U-20963, issued Dec. 22 , approved an annual increase of $27,118,00 in Consumers' electric rates.
