Proposed shopping center in northeast Berks gets first OK

The Maxatawny Township supervisors voted 3-0 to allow the dividing of a 31-acre property at 15100 Kutztown Road to build a strip-mall style shopping center.

The vote took place at a conditional use hearing to allow splitting the site into 1.2-acre building pad sites.

Gas Station Owner Buys Kendall Shopping Plaza For $26M

A gas station investor is now fueling up on retail by acquiring a two-building shopping plaza in Kendall for $26 million.

Hollywood-based Westar Holdings bought Shoppes At Hidden Lake at 12700 Southwest 128th Street in Miami-Dade County, according to Margot Chamot, the broker who handled the sale.

UK Shopping Centres: New Investors Climb The Mountain Of Debt

Three of LaSalle Global Partner Solutions ' pension fund clients have bought the 215K SF St George's Shopping Centre in Harrow, as investors rediscover neighbourhood values.

The north London suburban shopping centre, which has 32 units and around 9 million customer visits a year, was sold by RDI Reit .

IBM study: Retailers must adapt to hybrid shopping model

While it's no secret that the pandemic has accelerated the shift to digital shopping. consumers are not yet ready to ditch bricks and mortar entirely.

A recent Mastercard report revealed that ecommerce sales in the US over the holiday period were up 61% compared with the pre-pandemic period in 2019; and online sales made up 20.9% of all retail sales this year, while in 2019, they accounted for just 14.6%.

Target CEO says consumers will 'consolidate' shopping trips in 2022 due to rising

The highest inflation rate in four decades will force consumers to consolidate their shopping trips in 2022, according to Target CEO Brian Cornell. 

During a National Retail Federation (NRF) event on Sunday, Cornell addressed inflation saying that consumers will be shifting their shopping, eating and driving habits as household expenses continue to increase, according to Bloomberg News.
