(WSPA) – Thousands of Duke Energy customers across the Carolinas are experiencing a power outage.

According to Duke Energy , the outage is due to high winds. Crews are out and working to restore customers as quickly and safely as possible.

County water customers to see 23% rate hike with April meter readings

Guernsey County Water Department customers will soon receive a letter announcing a $4 rate increase beginning with the April meter readings and what caused the 23.5% hike for a thousand gallons of water.

Customers will soon be paying $21 for each 1,000 gallons of water, according to a letter signed by Commissioners Dave Wilson, Skip Gardner and Jack Marlin, Water & Sewer Superintendent Jeff Alfman and County Engineer Paul Sherry.

Spectrum cable TV fees going up soon for customers

The company has begun informing customers on their bills that among the increases will be a hike in the broadcast TV surcharge of about $3 a month.

Charter/Spectrum says that since 2010, retransmission consent fees, which is what the cable company pays local broadcast channels, have increased more than 850%.
