A new DIY (Do it yourself) creative space is coming to 112 West College Street Suite B in downtown Bowdon. Brushstrokes is opening a storefront location along with their mobile art studio. We spoke to owners Laurie and Scott Summey who are both excited about the new Bowdon spot.
The new creative DIY studio will offer a gathering type environment for friends and family to come together and get crafty. Brushstrokes will host parties for all ages, and a splatter room is being added where guests can get messy and create their own masterpiece!

STAUNTON — John and Gloria Gerber were stuck with a big dilemma two years ago. A flood that destroyed a large portion of downtown Staunton and its businesses decimated their pupuseria on Central Avenue.
"In our heads we were like, alright, we're done, it was fun while it lasted," John said. "It didn't take long ... the next day ... to realize that Staunton wasn't going to let us quit."

A motor vehicle accident resulted in an estimated $200,000 in damage to the Rodeo General Store in Makawao after a brand new vehicle mistakenly drove through the storefront on Monday afternoon.
The accident was reported at around 3:04 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 1, 2022. Officers responded to the business, located at 3661 Baldwin Avenue in Makawao, and found a 2022 Mercedes Benz sedan had crashed into the building.
