Criminal Marketplace Disrupted in International Cyber Operation | OPA | Department of Justice

Since its inception in March 2018, Genesis Market has offered access to data stolen from over 1.5 million compromised computers around the world containing over 80 million account access credentials.

"The operation being announced today is the direct result of the hard work, dedication, and exceptional collaborative efforts of the FBI and its partners around the globe," said U.S. Attorney Gregory J. Haanstad for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

Genesis, a dark web marketplace, shut down in global operation | News | Al Jazeera

Genesis Market, an online forum, hosted about 80 million credentials and digital fingerprints stolen from more than two million people, NCA estimated.

"We assess that the Genesis is one of the most significant access marketplaces anywhere in the world," said Rob Jones, the NCA's director general of threat leadership.
