Daytona Beach shopping centers including Tanger Outlets, One Daytona and Volusia Mall struggle to stay open as the coronavirus crisis forces more and more stores to close.
"It’s been pretty bleak," said Juan Guevara, owner of The Running Elements store at One Daytona. "Since Friday, we’ve seen a steep drop off."
Melanie Dohrman Jacob, manager of the Pink Narcissus Lilly Pulitzer women’s apparel shop at One Daytona, said sales for her store began slipping last week.

Publix starts senior shopping hours on Tuesday
That's why Publix is trying to offer some peace of mind. They're starting senior shopping hours on Tuesday at 7 a.m.
This is just for customers 65 and older. They're allowed to shop in the store and it will only be open to seniors. This should help offer that peace of mind with seniors being more vulnerable to the coronavirus.
This is happening every Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m until further notice. The Publix pharmacy will also be open during these days and times.

Food shopping from a distance: the new rules - The Boston Globe
As the reality of our new normal sinks in, we're all finding ourselves navigating an alien landscape and inventing ways to cope. That includes what's happening in the kitchen. Even for those who brought in ample supplies, bean soup or a bowl of pasta for the third night in a row might drive your family nuts. No crystal ball can tell us how long this will continue, but at some point, we'll have to figure out how to balance restaurant take-out with home cooking.
Grocery stores are struggling to adapt right now, too, but the news isn't all bad. Stores will restock, according to local merchants. Jeff Barry, founder of Boston Organics in Charlestown, says that the main challenge at the moment is not the supply, but an imbalance in distribution caused by the sudden surge. He thinks that the sight of empty shelves was part of what prompted panic buying. And though restaurants need less food, consumer demand has skyrocketed.
