Gaming has changed in recent years. Gone are the days where a disc or cartridge was needed to play the hottest new games on the market. Today, digital game sales are a fast and convenient way to get your hands on both new games and old games alike.
As digital game sales have become more prominent, gamers have found themselves with an abundance of online shops from which to purchase games. Each has its own benefits and convenience, but it's essential to remember to be careful where you buy.
Many things are taking place:
See the boarded-up designer storefronts in San Francisco's Union Square - SFGate
The lavish, gleaming storefronts of the designer boutiques on San Francisco's Maiden Lane and surrounding Union Square shopping district have never looked less fancy.
Diamonds have been removed from the window displays of jewelers Tiffany's and Bulgari, and locked in safes. Handbags and shoes are gone from the shelves of Jimmy Choo and Maison Margiela. Carpenters replaced shoppers in a near-empty Union Square this week as wood paneling was nailed up over the glass fronts of almost every designer store, from Hermes to Chanel.

Drive Sales With Online Storefronts
In just seven days in March, as the coronavirus bore down on the U.S. and governors ordered businesses closed, foot traffic to brick-and-mortar stores fell by 97.6%, according to investment firm Cowen and Company.
Meanwhile, as people practiced social distancing and stayed inside, they continued to shop online. In March, e-commerce transactions grew by an average of 25% across the country, says Adobe Analytics, beginning with panic buying of toilet paper, cold medicines, hand sanitizer and canned goods, and now moving into homebound activity items like workout equipment.

Someone created an Animal Crossing: New Horizons storefront that takes real money
Welp, the Animal Crossing custom design system is pretty limitless, but this probably isn't what Nintendo intended!
As a reminder, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been out for a short while, which means thousands of fans have come up with ways to either break it or stretch the limits of what the game can do: the human spirit really is indomitable, isn't it?
Clearly this is likely a breach of the spirit of the game from Nintendo's point of view, but a digital artist setting up shop inside of a popular fake world is crazy smart when you think about it.

During the coronavirus shutdown, SF's Union Square takes on new look — plywood storefronts -
San Francisco’s chic Union Square might consider renaming itself Plywood Square, given the number of high-end stores now sporting boarded-up fronts.
A survey by the Union Square Business Improvement District found that 284 of the 340 businesses located in the 27-block area bordered by Bush, Kearny, Market and Taylor streets were closed. And of those, 90 have been boarded up since the shelter-in-place order was issued on March 16.

The Old Navy, GAP and Ross Dress for Less storefronts on Market are also covered in plywood. Morton’s Steakhouse on Post Street is boarded up, as is Sears Fine Food on Powell. Mel’s Drive-In on Mission Street went from full service, to takeout only, to closed and boarded up in the past two weeks.
Revolution Cafe gives weekly fund injection to shuttered Schuylerville storefronts
SCHUYLERVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Revolution Cafe was already largely a takeout-based restaurant before their seating space had to close. Despite losing traffic as the school across the street emptied out in recent weeks, they’ve done well enough to move forward on helping out neighboring storefronts that have had to close.
Every Friday, the cafe donates 20 percent of their profits to a business that has been deemed nonessential and forced to close. This week’s beneficiary is Rural Soul Music Studio.
