Starbucks will require customers to wear masks in all of its coffee shops - oregonlive.com
Starbucks will start requiring customers to wear facial coverings or masks in all 9,000 of its company-owned American stores beginning July 15.
The mandate is part of Starbucks' "continued effort in prioritizing the health and well-being" of its employees and customers during the coronavirus pandemic, the company said in a statement Thursday.
Requiring a facial covering or mask supersedes local laws in some states or cities that might not require wearing one. Starbucks said customers who refuse to wear a mask inside can order from the drive-thru, curbside pickup or delivery.
Miner's Mall employee discusses mask mandate, says customers are doing their part
"Everyone that we've had come in yesterday [Friday] even though the mandate didn't go into effect until 5:00 p.m. yesterday, we didn't have to tell anyone yesterday to put on a mask everyone that came in wore a mask," said employee Ashley Cano.
The store sold 14 masks just one hour after opening on Saturday, it has sold 30 masks since Friday.
"We have a few left maybe three or four but hopefully we'll be getting some more in soon," added Cano.

A look at the setup for flights being offered at Armstrong Valley Winery in Halifax, Dauphin County.
This was supposed to be the Summer Festival weekend at Armstrong Valley Winery in Halifax, Dauphin County. It's one of the winery's signature events, with music and vendors and, of course, plenty to drink and eat.
But with the number of COVID-19 cases rising across the state and nation and the worries about social distancing and masks, owners Jake Gruver and Dean Miller said they "just didn't want to put people in that predicament."

Kroger cashiers to stop giving customers coin change
CINCINNATI (FOX19) - If you pay with cash at one of Kroger's cashier checkouts, you won't be getting coin change for a while, and it's indirectly due to the coronavirus.
Kroger spokesperson Erin Rofles confirmed Friday the grocer will no longer return coin change to customers. Instead, the remainders from cash transactions will be applied to customers' loyalty cards and automatically used on their next purchase.
The Greek Pastry Shop faces backlash from customers over mask mandate
#1 Gyro/The Greek Pastry Shop owner John Kordonouris says he and his employees were targets of backlash on Thursday when the ruling was implemented, saying some customers refused to wear masks and when asked to do so, threw expletives at him and his employees before leaving.
Kordonouris said they lost about five to eight customers because of it. Friday was better, but he said the new mandate puts local businesses in a tough spot to enforce these rules because of that potential for backlash, but ultimately it's businesses, not customers, who feel the punishments if the rules are not followed.
Columbia businesses not expected to ask customers for proof of mask exemption - ABC17NEWS
People and businesses can be fined if they are found not complying with the mandatory mask order that went into effect at 5 p.m. Friday in Columbia.
But the order provides exceptions. One says people do not need to wear a mask "when an individual has a medical condition, mental health condition or disability that prevents wearing a Face Mask."
Scott Clardy, the assistant director of the Columbia/Boone County Health Department, said there are is not a list of medical conditions that exempt someone from wearing a mask. Rather it's a conversation to be had between the wearer and their doctor.
