The construction of Higgins Marketplace, a neighborhood shopping center set to open on Highway 49 near Combie Road, is nearing completion.
Started in September and previously projected to open in mid-July, the shopping center has now set an initial opening date of July 31, according to Katz Kirtkpatrick Properties Principal Fred Katz.
Katz said Holiday Market, which will occupy the largest space in the shopping center, will be finished first.

NEW PHILADELPHIA A localized adaptation of Vincent van Gogh’s most popular painting, "Starry Night," is taking shape downtown.
Dover artist Jon Stucky is creating the work, with help from artists of Starlight Enterprises, Inc., on a commission from Alley Cats Marketplace owner Debbie Aubihl Knisely.

Knisely wanted a painting on that side of her building because patrons sitting on the new patio of Ricardo’s Restaurant and Banquet Hall, at 115 Front Ave. SW, were looking north at a blank black wall, Stucky said.

Old National Bank is partnering with Bankable and the Mid-States Minority Supplier Development Council to promote and support Minority Business Enterprises.
The partnership will provide unique and flexible financing solutions and business development resources to Mid-States MSDE-certified enterprises within Indiana to ensure each entity’s future stability, growth and success.
Old National is providing $50,000 in funding to launch the partnership with an emphasis on broadening economic development and financial empowerment initiatives among diverse businesses and geographies, the company said.

Government E-Marketplace To Integrate With Railways E-Procurement System
The government's e-marketplace and Indian Railways' e-procurement system are working on ways to integrate both the platforms with a view to further widen the ambit of the Commerce Ministry's portal by enhancing its buying and selling process, a senior official said on Sunday.
The official said that currently a feasibility assessment is going on for integration of government procurement portal GeM with Indian Railway Electronic Procurement System and Integrated Material Management System.
