Alberta unveils menacing COVID-19 mascot in new ad campaign | Calgary Herald

The Alberta government is hoping a new advertising campaign featuring a frightening, personified COVID-19 virus can persuade younger Albertans to follow public-health orders.

The province launched the covidloves.ca website Friday morning alongside two 30-second advertisements showing a man wearing a large, menacing head shaped like COVID-19's viral structure. The mascot does not have an official name but one Alberta Health official suggested Mr. COVID.

The Government has launched a new $2.5 million advertising campaign aimed at encouraging New Zealanders to continue using their Covid-19 tracer app over summer.

It's called the "Make Summer Unstoppable" campaign and it premiered in the ad break during the Black Caps test in Wellington this afternoon.

Speaking to media at the Basin, the Minister Responsible for Covid-19, Chris Hipkins, said New Zealand should be really proud of its Covid-19 prevention efforts.

VDH spends $1.5 million on ad campaign to contain the spread of COVID

RICHMOND, Va. -- Citing misinformation and distrust among Virginia's most vulnerable communities, the Virginia Department of Health hired a strategic marketing and PR agency to motivate Virginians to adopt behaviors that will contain the spread of COVID-19.

According to the contract, VDH is spending $1,500,000 between October 7th and December 31st on a communications campaign aimed at "young adults and families in Southwest Virginia, and other areas of the state as the budget allows."

In a new $2-million ad campaign ahead of the winter holiday season, the novel coronavirus is depicted as a fun-loving party attendee set on invading your private gatherings.

In the holiday video, COVID-19 (aka “Uncle Mike”) is greeted warmly at the door carrying some sort of 1950s Jello dessert. The virus then socializes with family, opening presents, downing eggnog and sharing Christmas dinner.
