What BAZAAR Editors Are Shopping This Week

Welcome to Add to Cart , a weekly shopping series featuring all the accessories, ready-to-wear, and beauty items our BAZAAR editors are coveting this week.

These have been at the top of my must-have sneaker list for a cool six months. —Nikki Ogunnaike

If you're missing travel and dining out (who isn't?), Loewe's new Ken Price capsule offers a taste of both. Creative director Jonathan Anderson took inspiration from a series of 20 hand-painted ceramic plates the late-American artist Ken Price created for Newport Beach, California, restaurant La Palme in the early ’80s. The colorful palm tree motifs have been transposed onto a selection of Loewe’s signature bags, including the Puzzle and Hammock, as well as ready-to-wear.

Homebuyers put pets first when shopping for homes - HousingWire

According to a recent Realtor.com survey , almost 95% of homebuyers consider their pets when purchasing a home. Yes, you read that right.

Purchasing your first home is an exciting time. Whether you're shopping for a fixer-upper or a home with a modern exterior, there's nothing like finally being able to check the "buy a house" box off your bucket list.

In March 2020, Realtor.com surveyed over 2,000 homebuyers and found that a majority of pet owners consider their animals’ needs before making a home purchase. Of the respondents, 61% were dog owners, 45% owned cats, 12% owned fish and 9% were bird owners.

Smart shopping carts on the rise as stores adapt to pandemic era | | sentinelsource.com

Kroger is the latest retailer to embrace automation at a time when shoppers are more thoughtful about who they come in face-to-face contact with.

Last week, the grocery store chain revealed it has partnered with artificial intelligence firm Caper to deploy computer vision-enabled shopping carts at a supermarket in Cincinnati. If the test run is successful, the retailer will add connected buggies to more of its stores around the country.

Kroger now has 20 branded smart carts built to know what customers place inside. The wireless buggies can tally up your total, make recommendations and allow you to pay for groceries directly on the cart. The gadgets eliminate the need to stand in line around strangers or pass off items to a sales clerk.

Pinterest's ascent continues as holidays spur explosive adoption of shopping ads | Marketing

Pinterest's strong upward trajectory continued in Q4, with the longer holiday period an important proving ground for its bets on commerce. The number of advertisers using shopping ads grew by six times over the period as brands — particularly in retail — shifted more dollars online and attempted to tie gift-giving inspiration efforts to sales.

"We see shopping as this bridge between the two halves of our mission, inspiration and action," Ben Silbermann, chief executive at Pinterest, said during the Q&A portion of the call with investors. "For pinners, we've made progress by expanding the number of surfaces to let them shop."
