An hour from the nation's capital, a different infrastructure debate - Marketplace
As the infrastructure debate continues in Washington, D.C., a community just outside the Capital Beltway still has many residents without access to running water.
This is a classic example of water access and infrastructure disparity in America, according to Sara Aminzadeh of the U.S. Water Alliance .
She said communities without basic water infrastructure tend to be low-income communities of color, often "rural communities too small and geographically remote to support the kind of larger, more centralized drinking water and wastewater systems that we see in other places."
"Everything you know about home economics is wrong" - Marketplace
The age of coronavirus brought renewed attention to the work of running a household. Stories about a resurgence of cooking and sewing flooded the media, and domestic labor has become part of the national conversation about infrastructure.
That's all you need to know to realize that everything you thought about home economics is wrong. Home economics was far more than baking lumpy blueberry muffins, sewing throw pillows, or lugging a bag of flour around in a baby sling to learn the perils of parenting. In its purest form, home economics was about changing the world through the household.
Sage Intacct lists on AWS Marketplace -
Aziz Benmalek, EVP of Partners and Alliances, Sage, commented: "Listing Sage Intacct in AWS Marketplace provides companies with a frictionless, digital experience from the get-go. We know from speaking to our customers that investors expect early-stage SaaS companies to prove different aspects of their business model at each stage of growth to achieve their next round of funding.
Enterprise Times also asked Benmalek some questions about the announcement. First, how did this come about? Who approached whom? Benmalek replied: "This is a joint opportunity which both Sage and AWS are very excited to launch together to deliver Sage's award-winning, multi-tenant cloud financial management system on the leading cloud platform marketplace. "
What's it going to take to juice U.S. job growth? - Marketplace
Instead, we got a quarter of that , which isn’t going to make much of a dent in recovering the 8 million jobs we're still down since the pandemic hit.
And it’s happening in an economy that already has a lot tilted in its favor: trillions of dollars in relief payments and aid for small businesses and state and local government sloshing around.
The Federal Reserve is committed to keeping interest rates at zero to stimulate the economy, and we’re gaining ground against the pandemic.
Deli Master Marketplace has much to offer | News, Sports, Jobs - Leader Herald
BROADALBIN — It has been a little over a year since John and Ashley Schiavo opened up Deli Master Marketplace.
This “criss cross store” as owner John Schiavo calls it, has become a place where people can stop in for an old-fashioned style sub, a look at the homemade candy selection, pick up some seafood, or just quickly grab a grocery item.
While opening a business at the start of a pandemic may have been a struggle for some, for the Schiavo team it was at time to turn their dream business into a thriving reality.

E-commerce aggregators are scooping up Amazon marketplace sellers - Axios
A new generation of companies is forming to scoop up Amazon marketplace sellers — and venture capital firms are writing big checks to support the effort.
Why it matters: These e-commerce aggregators are all about data and using it to optimize and turbocharge sales, which means they're using Amazon's own playbook.
How it works: The aggregators target sellers that have found "product-market-fit" but still have a lot of room to grow. Otherwise, what upside would there be to acquiring them?
The economy gained jobs, but they didn't go to women - Marketplace
In a typical month, 266,000 new jobs would be amazing. But April (and the 12 months before that) was not a typical month. Economists expected about a million, the labor market’s still in a deep hole and on balance, we expected women to get some of them. On today’s show we’ll take you behind the numbers, plus a little on Elon Musk’s autopilot problem and another round of our favorite game, Half Full/Half Empty.
