Why Do Customers Buy? - Business 2 Community

Such a simple question, but too often, we don't really understand the answer to this question because we focus on what we are selling.

Too often, we fail to understand why customers are buying. Often, it's because we are getting involved very late in the customer buying process, they have made some decisions, conducted research, and are seeking answers to their questions. Rather than backtracking to understand why they buy, we answer their questions and move to closing them.

Empty Lots, Angry Customers: Chip Crisis Throws Wrench Into Car Business - WSJ

Americans are shopping for cars in near-record numbers, but the world's computer-chip shortage has left dealers with the fewest offerings in decades.

The market mismatch is driving up prices , and many buyers expecting to drive new cars off the lot have to wait weeks or months for their vehicles to arrive. Some showroom models sell for thousands of dollars over the sticker price.

"We may just be in the greatest new-car market of our existence," Philadelphia-area car dealer David Kelleher said, "and we're doing it with no cars."

Consumer groups welcome move to ensure finance firms put customers first | Consumer rights | The

New plans from the City regulator to compel financial firms to act in the best interest of customers have been welcomed by consumer groups.

The regulator said that for many firms, this would require "a significant shift in culture and behaviour".

In practice, it could mean tackling the "loyalty penalty" people sometimes pay when rolling over their insurance, or help consumers get the right current account deal.

Inflation re-cycling: Chinese exporters pass higher costs on to customers around the world |

BEIJING (Reuters) - A metal coatings plant in China's manufacturing hub has been hit by price increases of up to 30% for raw materials including steel, aluminium, thinner and paint since the Chinese New Year in February.

The firm has had no choice but to pass most of these higher costs on to its clients, including those in the United States, said King Lau, who helps run Dongguan-based Kam Pin Industrial Ltd, in Guangdong province.

"Our customers understand, because it is happening to many different kinds of industries including home appliances, mobile phones, vehicles," Lau said, referring to price hikes by Chinese exporters.

Businesses Offer Perks to Vaccinated Customers - The New York Times

At Fort Bragg, soldiers who have gotten their coronavirus vaccines can go to a gym where no masks are required, with no limits on who can work out together. Treadmills are on and zipping, unlike those in 13 other gyms where unvaccinated troops can't use the machines, everyone must mask up and restrictions remain on how many can bench-press at one time.

Inside Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, where lines not long ago snaked for miles with people seeking coronavirus vaccines, a special seating area allows those who are fully inoculated to enjoy games side by side with other fans.

Your customers versus a band of dark-web soldiers

We may not know precisely how many criminals operate on the dark web, but there's one thing we do know: the barrier to entry for countless identity criminals is extremely low.

You don't have to be highly skilled to engage in digital identity theft and manipulation. A would-be data exploiter doesn't even need access to specialized web sites or web browsing tools. Recent investigations show fraudsters now access and use stolen identity data on mainstream platforms like Reddit and Telegram.
