Ameren Illinois crews busy restoring power to nearly 30,000 customers
(WEEK) -- Nearly 30,000 Ameren Illinois customers across Central and Northern Illinois are without power after storms overnight Friday into early Saturday.
In a release, Ameren Illinois said early reports indicate tree debris is the main cause of these outages -- and that crews and support personnel will have a better picture to assess damage as the sun rises.
The Ameren Illinois Emergency Operations Center was activated 2 p.m. Friday on a precautionary and monitoring basis as well as staffed around-the-clock to coordinate service restoration, logistical support and communication.
Service restored to UScellular customers following outage
MADISON, Wis. — UScellular customers in southwestern Wisconsin experienced service interruptions Friday.
The company said the interruption was not tied to the severe weather which had moved across southern Wisconsin.
“Our top priority is providing an excellent wireless experience to our customers, and our network and engineering teams worked quickly with our vendors to fix the issue,” the company said in a statement shared with News 3 Now.

Cruise giant Carnival says customers affected by breach
Carnival Corp. said Thursday that a data breach in March might have exposed personal information about customers and employees on Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line and Princess Cruises.
