First-floor storefront at The Avenue to become event space
A long-vacant, former retail space on the North Second Street facing side of The Avenue in downtown Milwaukee will be transformed into a 300-person events space, restauranteur Omar Shaikh confirmed.
Shaikh, who oversees the 3 rd Street Market Hall at The Avenue said he and partners wanted to add an events venue due to the growing interest in holding events at the 3 rd Street Market Hall space.

MOSCOW – The City of Moscow is pleased to announce the DeLIGHTful Downtown finalists to advance for public voting:
The four finalists were selected out of 11 entries. The entries were judged on Thu., Dec. 1 by City Supervisor, Bill Belknap; Latah County Commissioner, Kathie LaFortune; and Moscow Police Department Captain, Anthony Dahlinger.
Public voting is open now, Fri., Dec. 2, until 5 pm, Wed., Dec. 7.

McDonald's testing new small-format takeaway storefront in Fort Worth, Texas - Washington Times
McDonald’s has opened a new test location in the Fort Worth, Texas, area featuring a drive-thru lane with a conveyor belt and shelves for pick-up orders inside, the company announced Thursday.
The test location, operated by a franchisee, is smaller than other McDonald’s restaurants. It does not have a dining room, and caters specifically to “customers who are planning to dine at home or on the go,” McDonald’s said in the announcement.

Five Guys opening new restaurant in Centerville
A fast-casual chain known for its burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and fries plans to open a new location just south of Cornerstone of Centerville.
GPD Group out of Akron recently received a zoning permit for a Five Guys restaurant at 5808 Wilmington Pike, just south of Feedwire Road. The space, which is next door to Godfather's Pizza, was previously occupied by a bank.
