But even though we haven't seen anything as obviously groundbreaking as the invention of the internet since, it doesn't mean that retail has been standing still. Things are changing even within ecommerce, with new and innovative business models built around the infrastructure by giants.

And that's the direction where Rise Up Automation is leading the new iteration of ecommerce – towards an automated, done-for-you, ecommerce-as-investment model. Headed by the CEO, co-founder, and real estate veteran Anis Serri, the company's been making waves in the automation space, a controversial but promising new approach to retail.

"Whatever people need, online giants are the first places they go to look for it," he explains. "With those stores, you're leveraging reputation. You don't need to run any paid media or paid traffic to get views on your product. E Commerce giants invest billions annually in promoting products and stores. Another key benefit is consistent growth, even when other markets are declining. It's not a company that will disappear — it's here for the long haul."

The rest is up to Anis and his Rise Up Automation team. The company's main offer is creating done-for-you stores for people interested in owning an ecommerce asset. The company would build the store, pick the products, and manage most fulfillment. The investor needs to foot the bill for the investment and, later on, have minimal time obligations towards the store.

The model has been around for a while, and during that time, it managed to attract attention — for good reasons but bad ones, too. It's the latter that Anis wants to focus on more, both as a way of differentiating.

"One of the main narratives about ecommerce automation is either it's a scam or stores are getting suspended," says Anis. "We've developed a system that fully complies with policies, significantly reducing store suspensions. Our approach differs from traditional done-for-you companies. We employ a hybrid model, also known as two-step drop shipping."
