With back-to-school shopping in full swing, large retail chains are about to take their turn on Wall Street's earnings stage and outline their COVID-19 recovery.

Walmart, Target and some other traditional retailers were able to keep up with the massive move to online shopping during COVID-19 restrictions, showing big gains in online sales while shutting down stores.

French shopping malls to require COVID-19 health pass | Reuters

PARIS, Aug 16 (Reuters) - Shopping malls in Paris and large parts of France had to ask customers to show a health pass on Monday, as the government increased pressure on people to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

The requirement to show proof of vaccination or a negative test applies to all malls with a surface area of more than 20,000 square metres in regions where the COVID-19 incidence rate is higher than 200 cases per 100,000 citizens per week.

Rockingham woman goes grocery shopping, ends up winning $2 million

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - Mary Tuck was grocery shopping with her daughter at the Martin's Food Market at 2035 East Market Street in Harrisonburg. They stopped by the Virginia Lottery Game Machine, lottery officials say.

Tuck bought the ticket and took it home, and when she scratched it, officials say she was in disbelief.

Aldi hiring 20,000 US employees ahead of holiday shopping | Fox Business

Discount grocer Aldi is looking to hire an additional 20,000 people across the U.S. at higher starting pay ahead of the holiday season, the company announced Monday.

The German company is seeking employees both for store and warehouse positions with starting pay at $15 and $19 per hour, respectively, as it continues to expand its American footprint. Aldi said it already hiked the pay of its existing employees earlier this year.

Shopping Centres Australasia FY Net Profit A$462.9 Million - MarketWatch

SYDNEY--Shopping Centres Australasia Property Group said its annual net profit increased sharply, as it benefited from higher valuations of its neighborhood malls and the retail sector's initial recovery from the pandemic.

Shopping Centres Australasia said its net profit totaled 462.9 million Australian dollars (US$341.4 million) in the 12 months through June, up from A$85.5 million a year earlier.
