Shopping center owner Phillips Edison opens flat in Nasdaq debut | The Mighty 790 KFGO | KFGO

(Reuters) – Phillips Edison & Co Inc's shares opened flat at $28 in their Nasdaq debut on Thursday, giving the owner and operator of omnichannel shopping centers a valuation of more than $3 billion.

The listing comes at a time when brick-and-mortar retailers are still recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which could in turn weigh on REITs like Phillips Edison.

RVA Boys & Girls Club receives $200K grant for shopping mall turned teen center

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - A $200,000 grant will fund the first year of operations for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond's new teen center, according to a release from the organization.

The William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust awarded the grant to support the first year of operations and programming for the teen center slated to open this summer.

Grass fire pops up near shopping center

HERCULES — A single-alarm fire behind a shopping center that threatened at least one structure was quickly contained, authorities said Thursday.

Around 4 p.m., firefighters with Rodeo-Hercules and Crockett-Carquinez fire departments responded to reports of a grass fire in the 800 block of Willow Avenue.
