First Energy is warning customers about scammers who target utility customers, and they can be very convincing.

Reports have increased over recent weeks because they know customers rely on electricity to stay safe and warm and are more likely to comply due to fear of disconnection. Also, the hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic has given scammers opportunities to trick customers.

SunPower launches VPP offering for its energy storage customers – pv magazine USA

The company will manage charging and discharging the batteries, while keeping some electricity in reserve for backup power to the home.

SunPower Corp. said it will launch a virtual power plant program that will let energy storage customers who use its SunVault system to be paid for allowing the local utility to use stored energy during peak demand.

Why Are Hertz Customers Getting Stopped--or Even Jailed--for Driving 'Stolen' Cars?

Some 165 Hertz Car Rental customers have filed claims in bankruptcy court saying they were stopped, detained, and even spent months in jail because the car rental company filed stolen car reports on vehicles they had rented and paid for.

Why did they happen? Does the issue result from actions or policies on Hertz's part? Are they part of a misguided attempt to reduce costs at the extreme expense of some customers? Whatever the answers, Hertz is setting an example every business leader should be careful not to follow.

$330 million in refunds headed to Dominion customers

Virginia utility regulators have approved a settlement in the state's review of Dominion Energy's earnings between 2017 and 2020.

The settlement, which was first announced last month , will send $330 million in refunds back to ratepayers and reduce the company's annual rates by $50 million, the maximum amount allowed under the Grid Transformation and Security Act passed by the General Assembly in 2018.
