Back during the pandemic, e-commerce site builder Shopify ( NASDAQ:SHOP ) distinguished itself as the weapon of choice to keep brick-and-mortar stores from shutting down completely.
The idea that’s likely unsettling Shopify investors is Amazon’s "Buy with Prime" concept, a tool that gives stores access to a range of Amazon tools despite not directly selling on Amazon.

Amazon's move will allow more businesses that don't sell directly on the e-commerce giant's website to use its payments and delivery infrastructure to handle orders on their own sites.
Buy with Prime allows Amazon's Prime members in the U.S. to shop directly on independent businesses' online stores that aren't on Amazon's website. Amazon, in turn, processes the payments, packaging, deliveries and returns of customer orders.

The changes, which are effective immediately, include removing all recurring meetings with more than two people "in perpetuity," shoehorning meetings of more than 50 people into a six-hour window on Thursdays, and limiting big meetings to once a week.
"We can either go slow and deliberate, or fast and chaotic. We are going fast and chaotic," he wrote. "While we know this will feel chaotic, that's the point. Intentional chaos is more than okay, and it's part of working and thriving at Shopify."

Shopify Inc. SHOP-T put its massive office space in downtown Toronto on the sublet market on Tuesday, flooding the country's largest business hub with even more unused space.
The e-commerce company's lease is for 348,103 square feet, spanning seven floors of a newly built office, residential and retail complex, according to documents marketing the new space.
