NRA to wage TV ad campaign in West Virginia pressing Manchin to oppose ATF nominee Chipman | Fox

Exclusive: The National Rifle Association (NRA) has set its sights on West Virginia in a $250,000 ad buy to counter President Biden's pick to lead the gun control arm of the federal government. 

The NRA will run a $250,000 TV ad buy in the traditionally red state in an attempt to convince West Virginians to call Sen. Joe Manchin and tell him to vote "no" on David Chipman for head of the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

Anti-cockfighting group starts ad campaign to pressure law enforcement - ABC 36 News

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two animal protection groups that have gone after cockfighting for the last two years are using advertising to try to raise public pressure to force law enforcement to act.

Showing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK) and the Humane Farming Association (HFA) are partnering with Kentuckians to expose illegal cockfighting operations by purchasing ads in major newspapers in the state.

Ohio may not assess a traditional corporate income tax on businesses, but the state instead imposes a tax on business income that economists across the ideological spectrum consider to be more harmful than a traditional corporate tax.

Ohio and six other states — Texas, Washington, Oregon, Tennessee, Nevada, and Delaware — impose a state gross receipts tax. Oregon is the most recent state to enact a gross receipts tax, doing so in 2019. The rates and structures of these gross receipts taxes vary by state.

Call to dial up fear in COVID-19 ad campaign

The Morrison government has spent just $8610 on COVID-19 vaccine advertisements online in the past four months, according to data provided to The Australian Financial Review .

The Pathmatics data reveals that of the $3 million the government has spent on COVID-19-related messaging across Facebook, news websites, Google and YouTube for the 14 months to June 1, an estimated $32,000 was invested into messaging specific to the COVID-19 vaccine.
